Cecil County Walk-In Substance Use Crisis Center
People seeking help for addiction can now be served 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Elkton, Maryland. The Voices of Hope Crisis Center is equipped with Peer Recovery Specialists and Case Managers who help an individual to develop their own treatment and/or recovery plan. Those seeking help are given options for care and have appointments made at the local treatment providers of their choice.
Individuals who need immediate inpatient treatment for opiate use disorder are cared for until their bed date, if needed. The Crisis Center is funded by a grant through the Behavioral Health Administration and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration. It’s intent is to provide a diversion from emergency room visits and incarceration by providing alternative and accessible systems of care.
The Voices of Hope Crisis Center is developed and operated by people with lived experience (Peers) and protects the dignity and respect of those they serve. Families are welcomed to participate in the treatment and recovery support process with their loved ones.
